Maintenance

Polished concrete is not maintenance free. Although, concrete that has been properly mechanically processed with diamond abrasives (ground, honed and polished) and densified is more durable and has a longer life cycle than any other flooring available today. Cleaning costs for Cuviello Polished Concrete are significantly lower than other flooring options. Polished concrete does not go through frequent rollercoaster deep cleaning or restoration cycles like other flooring. Various flooring material will look great when first deep cleaned or restored. As they receive wear their appearance slowly degrades even when frequently maintained. Not until they are deep cleaned or refinished do they look great again. Cuviello Polished Concrete will last many, many years without the use of special cleaners, waxes or coatings. The Cuviello Concrete Polishing process is guaranteed never to peel, bubble or blister like coatings or sealers.

Factors that influence maintenance are the amount and type of traffic, the amount and type of soil, entrance matting, frequency of maintenance and procedures.

Maintaining polished concrete is very basic.

For schools, retail stores, restaurants, offices, etc:

1. Dry clean the surface to remove potentially damaging grit with a dry dust or micro fiber mop. The most through dry soil removal is done with a hard surface vacuum system.
2. Wet clean the surface with a wet micro fiber mop system. The most through wet soil removal is done with an auto scrubber. Use a neutral to slightly alkaline cleaning solution.
3. As needed burnish the surface with a natural hair or red pad. Other specialty polishing/maintenance pads are available.

For warehouses, manufacturing, etc. simply dry clean the surface to remove potentially damaging grit with a dust mop or sweeper and wet clean the surface with an auto scrubber using a neutral to slightly alkaline cleaning solution.
