The best situations require very little prep work. The concrete substrate is in good condition with minimal spalling or cracking and only requires miner filling of holes and cracks. More extreme situations may need to be profiled by grinding and/or top coated with a cement product to repair and prep the surface.

Depending on the desired surface various processes may take place. Some situations require primers, mixing or spreading/broadcasting of colored quartz, paint chips, and coloring. Other situations may also require a final top coat for extreme added protection.

Prepping and coating the Floor:
Concrete must be cured minimum of 28-60 days before and coating depending on the product being used. Always perform a moisture test before coating the floor.

For proper adhesion to take place the surface must be free from dirt, oil and any existing sealer or coating. If an existing sealer or coating exists it needs to be removed by grinding the surface then thoroughly cleaned. Any dirt or oil that exists can be cleaned by grinding, power washing or scrubbing the surface. Make sure the surface is thoroughly rinsed. The surface then needs to be acid etched or mechanically prepped to create a rough surface. Mechanical preparation can be done by grinding or shot blasting.

Patch and fill any cracks, spalling or pitted areas. To obtain the best appearance and lessen the possibility of cracking or peeling it is recommended that all expansion joints and hairline cracks be repaired.

Prime the floor with a base coat for maximum adhesion.

Apply the coating by following manufacturer's directions.
